8 weeks to design, manufacture and FAT Test 4 Main Distribution Boards for a new 90MW Data Centre's Energy Centre

Challenge

A time sensitive project for a new 90MW Data Centre, which required Capital to design, manufacture and ready for FAT test four 3200A Main Distribution Boards within 8 weeks.

Solution

Prior to the project commencing, Capital worked closely with the client’s electrical engineering design team with panel designs and component selection to ensure the highest quality and availability of supply.

The four Main Distribution Boards were constructed up to Form 4B Type 6 separation. The MDBs were rated at 3200A and fitted with ABB’s SACE Emax 2 Hi-Touch LSIG Air-circuit-breakers, and SACE Tmax XT Touch LSIG Moulded-case circuit-breakers.

The design included all the components in the enclosure:
• Busbar and copper work
• Fully automated ACBs
• MCCBs
• LSIG Trip Units
• 110volt DC Controls

Considerable coordination with the Purchasing, Planning and Production departments was needed to ensure the project schedule was met amidst a full order book and increased overall demand for our products amongst all customers.
