Passionate about switchgear.
Here for our people.
Capital is an independent, low-voltage (LV) switchgear manufacturer providing critical power infrastructure to data centres. We operate from two fully-integrated specialist sites in Ireland, and are led by the vision of our two founders: to provide high-quality switchgear at scale and speed.

If you have people’s loyalty, they’ll go above and beyond for you. The moment it becomes purely about money, you lose what makes a company great.
Mike Sinkey, Managing Director, Capital

Our story
Small beginnings.
Big ambitions.

Capital founders, Mike Sinkey and Stephen Cullen, started the business from their kitchen table in 2012. Stephen had a family background in electrical equipment and Mike had worked in the industry for years. They saw an opportunity in Ireland for cutting-edge power infrastructure delivered in a better way – more expertise, more structure, more speed.
It proved successful. Capital quickly became a known and trusted provider, manufacturing power management solutions for ever larger organisations across the country. The company grew with engineering companies like Winthrop, Mercury and Jones, as well as airports, pharmaceutical organisations and hospitals.
Capital now focuses on developing quality switchgear solutions, at speed, for data centre operators across the world looking to scale fast and sustainably.
This is why we’ve set solid foundations for rapid growth
- Expanded to 100,000 sq ft manufacturing facility
- Optimised processes to be lean and repeatable
- Hired and trained more engineers and operatives
- Defined our sustainability goals until 2050
While many of our competitors were acquired, we’re proud to have remained independent and founder-led. Stephen and Mike are still heavily involved in the business – both our day-to-day operations and growth plans.
Our values have also remained the same: ambition, precision, integrity, commitment and perseverance, and relationships. These values, together with the vision of our founders to provide excellence in power solutions, put us on a steady course towards shared, sustainable success.
