While some switchgear providers offer leadtimes of months or even years, we turned around a switchgear build in less than two months for a leading colocator under pressure.
This was certainly a challenging project, but thanks to good communication between ourselves and the colocator, and a super lift by the team here at Capital it ran super smoothly.

Challenge
Colocator needed switchgear urgently
Due to unforeseen project challenges, this global colocator needed a switchgear provider to design, build and FAT four 3200A main distribution boards for its latest Dublin data centre in just 8 weeks.
Solution
Capital designed and delivered fast
Through immediate and very close collaboration with the customer, our agile manufacturing processes and our team’s massive effort, we produced the following:
Four 3200A main LV distribution boards:
- Constructed to Form 4B Type 6 separation
- Rated at 3200A
- Fitted with ABB’s SACE Emax 2 Hi-Touch LSIG Air-circuit-breakers
- Fitted with SACE Tmax XT Touch LSIG Moulded-case circuit-breakers
The design included all the components in the enclosure:
- Busbar and copper work
- Fully automated air circuit breakers (ACBs)
- Moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs)
- LSIG trip units
- 110V data centre controls
Results
Quality switchgear delivered in just 8 weeks and avoided delays
The customer avoided costly delays that can occur with late delivery of switchgear. Capital delivered the equipment on time and the data centre project continued as planned.
