Stores Assistant

About this role 

The Stores Assistant will work closely with a Supply Chain Specialist to ensure that processes follow the Capital standard. Within this role, you will assist the team and the manager in receiving goods (Switchgear & Metalwork), ensuring that the parts on the delivery dockets match and are received in good condition. You will need to check the live back-order list to see if any material is urgently required in the production warehouse. Capital is a very fast-paced environment, and in this role, you will need to be very open-minded, accept a change in priority and be a person who can multitask. This role requires a person with a can-do attitude who works well within a team and is self-motivated.

Key responsibilities 
  • Receive goods in
    • Check to see the material is received in good condition and not damaged
    • Check for any discrepancies
      • If any, processing a non-conformance form
    • Check a production live back-order list
    • Put away the stock that has been received that is not required in Production at that moment and time
    • Receive the delivery docket on our SAP Business One stock system
  • Process stock returns to a supplier
    • Requesting an authorised return number from procurement, which they will receive from the supplier
    • Creating a return docket off our system to take the material off our system correctly
  • You will contribute/identify to optimise the floor and shelf space in the warehouse for any improvements
  • Monitor and identify purchasing needs – Keeping above our minimum stock level
    • Create a purchase request on SAP
  • Carry our vehicle checklists (Forklift to ensure that they are fully functional
  • Pick and Pack material on time.
    • Picking production orders with a 100% success rate to ensure Production does not get affected and that our stocks are correct
    • Picking consumables as per the checklist given by Production
    • Issuing material off the system for what is required to pick
  • Putting through purchase requests for any stock that is falling below minimum stock levels through SAP
  • Carry out rolling stock checks throughout every month
  • Ahere to Capital’s Quality and Health and Safety procedures
    • Ensure a safe and tidy work environment
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and team members
Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in a store’s environment
  • Forklift experience
  • Attention to detail
  • A high level of written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive working attitude – A Can Do Attitude
  • Excellent IT skills, applications used:
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Excel
    • Smartsheet
    • SAP Business One – Training will be provided

 

Preferred to have but not essential:

    • Switchgear background
    • Valid forklift licence
    • Worked on SAP Business One

  • Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 16:30 and Friday, 07:30 to 13:30.
