Motor Controls Supervisor

About this role 

This role involves working to deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  The supervisor will plan, oversee production, ensure quality and safety, and manage training, HR collaboration, and performance reviews. The Motor Controls Supervisor will report to the Production Manager.

Key responsibilities 
  • Planning:
    • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees/team.
    • Allocating specific roles to tasks.
    • Organise workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
    • Review consumables required in line with production and submit to procurement.
    • Ensure staff have appropriate equipment and job specific components to complete panels.
    • Check production output in accordance with schedules.
  • Follow and maintain Quality control procedures set by the company.
  • Adhere to all the company’s Health & Safety procedures and train team:
    • Train new employees and staff on how to follow procedures safely.
    • Enforce strict safety, environmental guidelines and company standards.
    • Ensure a safe and tidy working environment.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects:
    • Identify efficiency improvements.
    • Communicate anomalies to Production Manager.
  • Oversee on-the-job training.
  • Liaise with HR on training needs, for example, First Aid/Safe Pass.
  • Carry out Performance Reviews with your team.
  • Manage TMS system for your production team, including dealing with anomalies and holidays, ensuring all team members are clocked onto the correct job.
  • Work with HR team on any HR issues for your team.
  • Adhere and align all team members to company values.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role leading teams of 20+ staff.
  • Understanding of motor control systems and LV Switchgear an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Proven track record of managing projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in working in fast-paced environments with constant change.
  • Experience with training teams and advantage.
  • Flexible approach to work, willingness to learn and be part of a team.
  • Good work ethic and attention to detail is a must.
  • Computer literate: knowledge of Microsoft tools.
  • Knowledge of working with ERP systems an advantage.

  • Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 16:30 and Friday, 07:30 to 13:30.
