Label Machine Operator

About this role 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Label Machine Operator / General Operative to join our Production team here at Capital Switchgear. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining the suite of advanced labelling equipment that is used to produce identification labels for switchgear assemblies and electrical components. In addition, you will support the wider Production team by performing general production and manufacturing tasks as needed to ensure we meet our Production deadlines.

This role requires excellent attention to detail and a strong command of English.

Key responsibilities 

Label Design and Delivery

  • Produce accurate labels for nameplates, circuit breakers, control panels, wiring and other switchgear components.
  • Use standard design software to create and update labels to match both client specifications and internal requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings, work orders and production packets to verify label details.
  • Inspect finished labels for accuracy, quality and compliance.

 

Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance on all labelling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues such as jams, alignment errors or print defects.
  • Report major mechanical issues to supervisors and address these as applicable.

 

Inventory and Documentation

  • Track label materials, tapes, ribbons and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate logs of label production and completed work orders.
  • Organise and store printed labels for easy use by production teams.

 

General Operative duties

  • Carry out assembly and sub-assembly of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Provide support in assembling electrical panels when needed.
  • Assist with finishing and packing products.
  • Complete quality checks and follow all quality control procedures set by the company.
  • Accurately complete system updates and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to standard internal procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a safe, team-oriented workshop.
  • Support supervisors on various assigned tasks as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects where requested.

 

General

  • Adhere to Health & Safety and environmental guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and innovative working environment.
  • Deliver duties in a professional manner, with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Complete all training as required for your role.
  • Support colleagues on other teams when requested.
Requirements
  • No experience is required as full training will be provided.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required.
  • Good work ethic and attention to detail is a must.
  • Previous experience in using graphic design software would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience with mechanical and electrical assembly and/or the use of hand tools is an advantage.
  • Flexible approach to work, willingness to learn and be part of a team.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland (with a current valid work permit if needed).

  • Location: Onsite in our workshop in Rathcoole, Co Dublin.
  • Working hours: shift times are 7:30-16:30 Mon-Thurs, 7:30-13:30 Fri. Occasional weekend work may be required.
