Role Summary

The HR Manager plays a pivotal role in our organisation, overseeing all aspects of human resources management. This role, with support from the HR Administrator, involves strategising, implementing, and managing HR policies and procedures to ensure the Company attracts, retains, and develops top talent. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer, the HR Manager will drive initiatives to foster a positive work environment and support the Company’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities 

HR Strategy Implementation

  • Develop and drive HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Lead the Company’s employment growth from 80 to 120 employees.

HR Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the full spectrum of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, and compliance.

Talent Management

  • Lead the recruitment process, from devising job descriptions with the Line Manager to deciding on job posting platforms and/or recruitment agency selection, candidate screening, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.
  • Design and oversee the onboarding process to ensure new employees integrate smoothly.
  • Carry out inductions and appoint a mentor/buddy system for new employees.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment and retention strategies.

Performance and Talent Development

  • Implement performance management systems to track employee performance, provide feedback, and support career development.
  • Provide employees with personal development plans for those aspiring to progress.
  • Assist and guide managers in conducting monthly, quarterly, or annual performance reviews with employees.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
  • Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, and sexual harassment.

Employee Relations and HR Compliance

  • Handle employee relations issues and disciplinary procedures promptly and effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
  • Update the employee handbook as required, informing staff and management of changes to employment law and guiding them on issues that may impact them, their staff and their role.
  • Keep records of benefits plans and participation, such as pension plans, new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.

Compensation and Benefit Benchmarking

  • Take a data-driven approach to analyse Capital’s current compensation and benefit benchmarking in line with current market trends to align current and future resources, achieving greater organisational efficiency.

Total Employee Experience

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee development by encouraging an open-door policy and a safe environment for discussing any issues staff may have.

Budget and Metrics Forecasting

  • Set out Company hiring goals and objectives by preparing budgets and targets for the HR function.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (essential) and related qualification in HR, e.g., CIPD accreditation preferable.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as an HR Manager, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment, have demonstrated expertise in managing teams of 1-5 staff, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Possess excellent leadership and decision-making abilities, a data-driven and analytical mindset, and strategic thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full valid Irish work permit and proficiency in the English language.
